Worldwide, land and water pollution from discarded flip-flops is a surprisingly enormous and growing problem. Ocean Sole transforms over 50 tons of discarded flip-flops found in the ocean and on land each year, upcycling them into art to help remedy the situation and raise awareness of the problem globally.

Each upcycled Flip-Flop T-Rex is sculpted individually, making a one-of-a-kind creation and keeping 4 flip-flops out of our oceans and landfills. Most people may know that Tyrannosaurus Rex was a large, fierce meat-eater, but did you know these fascinating facts about the most famous of the dinosaurs?

  • T. Rex stood 20 feet high and 40 feet long from nose to tail.
  • Its mouth was full of more than 60 sharp teeth the size of bananas.
  • It's true: T. Rex's comical little forearms were only about a meter long — too short to reach its mouth!

These wonderful animals are playful art pieces, and they have positively impacted many by cleaning up over a thousand tons of flip-flops from the ocean and waterways in Kenya, as well as providing steady income to over 150 low-income Kenyans.

Measures approximately 16cm x 14cm x 5cm (6.3" x  5.5" x 2")

Actual design and colors will vary. While these upcycled animals are playful to look at, we do not recommend them as toys, and they are not suitable for children under 3.

Ocean Sole contributes over 10% of their revenue to marine conservation programs such as the Ocean Conservancy: working to bring people, science and policy together with a mission to counter the many threats to ocean health and sustainability. From protecting vital, vulnerable ecosystems through legislation, to enforcing accountability among leaders, Ocean Conservancy seeks solutions for a healthy ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it.

"I fell in love with these colorful, whimsical animals and love having them on my desk.  They are a wonderful reminder of how important it is to reduce plastic in our oceans and protect marine and terrestrial wildlife.  And I never get tired of telling the story of Ocean Sole and all they're doing to get flip-flops out of landfills and oceans." - Tigger
