The eagle and raven are frequently seen residents of northwest coastlines. The Tlingit people are all members of either the raven or eagle clans, and traditionally marriages are between raven and eagles. The eagle and raven are sometimes depicted together in artwork to show the inclusiveness of all people or the joining of two in marriage. The raven and eagle are sometimes referred to as the lovebirds.
