To the native people of the north, the wolf was revered for his skill as a hunter and ability to survive in harsh conditions. Good hunting skills were believed to be a gift of the wolf. In northwest legends, the wolf and orca are two sides of the same spirit. The wolf was the form taken by the orca upon coming to land. Both animals are skillful predators, have a close family unit and hunt in organized packs.
